Are You Looking for a Safe Space to Learn about and Process Loss?

Hello, I'm Julie
Loss touches every aspect of our lives, yet we often lack the tools and support to navigate it.
This 10-week online workshop is designed to guide you through the complexities of loss in a structured, compassionate and empowering way.
Creating Space For Loss
Online Workshop
10-Week Workshop – 90 minutes duration each session.
Starts Monday, February 3rd, 2025
6:30 PM GMT | 10:30 AM Pacific | 1:30 PM Eastern | 7:30 PM GMT+1
What happens to us can be unique, but how our bodies respond is very similar.
This workshop does not ask you to share what happened to you, which can often feel shaming and overwhelming, instead, it teaches you to share how your body experienced what happened. This approach helps us to connect deeply and feel less alone in our experiences.
What You’ll Experience:
- Engaging Readings & Reflections: Start each session with a reading and connect through optional shared reflections.
- Guided Journal Prompts: Explore your emotions through writing, with optional sharing to build connection and understanding.
- Insightful Learning: Gain valuable tools and frameworks for processing loss, including the role of emotions like fear, anger, disgust, grief, care and joy.
- Practical Tools: Receive weekly PDFs with workshop slides, prompts and examples that support your learning journey.

You and your journey to new possibilities

Hear what others had to say about this workshop:
“What a great opportunity to explore new ways to accompany myself and others with loss and find the love within and the understanding of the process and how my reactions and feelings make sense. Julie offers a very warm space to be with all that is alive, to explore all the facets of loss and having more choice. It’s deep and connecting in many ways.”—AS
“Scarily enlightening but comfortingly welcome and safe.“—TS.
“There is a secret in this course that many don’t have, there is a lived experience, knowledge, understanding, love and personality of the facilitator, made into a glorious milkshake that you want more and more of. It will surprise you with pockets of punch and sooth it with the warmth and precision of the spoken language.”—IM-L
“The sessions, facilitator and participants are very supportive and encouraging on your loss journey.”—BP.
“It’s a space to explore and honour your feelings around grief and loss, and feel safe that you are with fellow travellers in that arena. It’s like having a little on-line community which can become a safe haven when life is so busy, there is no-one to turn to and no space to really face your loss. The sessions guide you through the depth and array of feelings around loss in such a way that you feel heard and understood through shared experiences with others (even if you haven’t had the courage to share anything yourself that week) and you will leave each week feeling more positive and lighter than when you began, with some understanding of human nature, a lot more compassion for yourself and others, and some tools under your belt to help you journey through the vulnerable path of loss and find some peace.”— KC.
“This workshop is a beautiful space to tend to loss through exploration, support, community, and learning. It is free from pressure and full of compassion.”—KW
Frequently Asked Questions
- Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for people experiencing all different forms of loss and the range of emotions these can activate. Through guided learning, journaling, and optional sharing, this space helps you connect with others and feel less alone in your experience, all while gaining tools to support your healing journey. Even if you feel hesitant to share, you’ll find this space welcoming and safe. This workshop is ‘not’ like a traditional grief circle or focused on participants sharing what happened to them.
- Do I have to share my personal story?
No, you are actually encouraged to ‘not’ share what happened to you. Instead, we focus on how your body experienced the event, which often feels safer and helps create more meaningful connections, easing any sense of unhelpful shame.
- Is the workshop recorded?
No. To maintain a sense of safety and confidentiality, the sessions are not recorded.
- What is the payment structure?
We use an open payment structure to support participants of all income levels. A £100 deposit is required, equating to £10 per session. Near the end of the 10 week workshop, you’re invited to pay what you can, with a suggested sliding scale between £50 and £300.
- How many spaces are available?
The workshop is limited up to 20 participants to ensure a supportive, intimate group dynamic.

- A learning segment on understanding and processing Loss
- Time for questions and self reflection
- Breakout room options for self reflection or participant connection
- Closing with an intention to return to lightness and joy
- Will this workshop work for me if I’m not comfortable sharing in groups?
Yes! Many participants start the workshop feeling hesitant to share but find comfort in the structured format. Sharing is always optional and is done via a lottery system for those who feel willing and able to share, as there isn’t time for everyone to share in each session. You can engage at your own pace, and simply listening to others can also be deeply impactful.
- What materials will I receive?
Before each session, you’ll receive a PDF of the slides and prompts. After the workshop, you’ll receive a full PDF with bonus materials to continue your journey.

About the facilitator
Hi, I’m Julie, and I’ve spent over 20 years supporting people on their journeys to heal from childhood emotional wounds while also walking my own path of healing. Understanding and mourning loss has been a vital part of this process, and it’s a passion I bring to every workshop I lead.
In 2011, as a mature student I graduated from Nottingham Trent University and continued my quest to understand childhood trauma and its impact on adults’ abilities to meet their own needs. This pursuit has involved extensive Continued Personal Development (CPD), including:
- Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine)
- Compassionate Inquiry (Gabor Maté)
- The Body Keeps the Score (Bessel van der Kolk)
- Neuro Sequencing (Dr. Bruce Perry)
- Internal Family Systems (Dick Schwartz) and its integration with Somatic Experiencing (Janina Fisher)
- Attachment Theory (Diane Poole Heller)
- Polyvagal Theory (Deb Dana)
In 2022, I became a certified Resonant Healing Practitioner with Sarah Peyton. This work integrates Nonviolent Communication, Resonant Language, and trauma-focused neuroscience, focusing on relational and right hemisphere development for deeper healing. I continue to assist Sarah in her training programs, staying engaged in ongoing learning and practice.
Through this course, I weave together these teachings into a framework that’s accessible and easy to understand. Using clear, everyday language, I aim to guide you through complex processes with empathy, warmth, and insight. I look forward to sharing this space of connection, learning, and healing with you.
